History of the charm jewellery

From many centuries, the concept of wearing charms in the form of bracelets and lovelinks particularly has been prevalent. The revitalization of the concept of charms and charm bracelets were made by Queen Victoria of Great Britain. The queen adorned her gold charm bracelet with the images in the form of lockets of her loved ones on them. This created a major influence on the charm bracelets worn by the common population. There was the beginning of charms but not in the form of amulets instead as a part of jewelleries for the purpose of adornment. Charms, like lockets, beads and family crests became popular. With the World War 2 there occurred the rise of these charms as the soldiers brought charms of gems and beads for their wives and their fiancés, from around the world. So this trend was picked by the jewellers in the USA and there commenced the business of gold charm and charm jewelleries.

Today, the charms and bracelets are available in various types and materials, being admired by the majority. The most favorable ones are the bracelets made of silver, gold and metals. Some also favor the ones made from pearls and also beads, with the presence of metals of precious nature.
